American Made Music to Strip By

American Made Music to Strip By
American Made Music to Strip By

American Made Music to Strip By is the first remix album released by American musician Rob Zombie. The album was released through Geffen Records on October 26, 1999. It is comprised entirely of remixes of songs taken from Zombie’s debut studio album, Hellbilly Deluxe (1998). Zombie worked with a number of musicians and producers to create updated versions of the songs, including Charlie Clouser, who had previously worked with Zombie on his debut solo effort. Ten of the original albums songs have been remixed, excluding three instrumental interludes. Two of the remixes featured on American Made Music to Strip By had previously been released on promotional discs for “Dragula” (1998) and “Living Dead Girl” (1999).

Upon its release, American Made Music to Strip By was met with a mixed critical reception. Though some tracks received praise for their updated sound, others were seen as simply redundant or predictable. The project received minimal promotion leading to its release, and debuted at number thirty-eight on the Billboard 200 chart in the United States. American Made Music to Strip By has went on to sell over 300,000 copies worldwide since its initial release. The album was followed by the promotional vinyl Spookshow Baby Remix-a-Go-Go, released on November 30, 1999. The vinyl release featured five remixes, four of which were included on American Made Music to Strip By and one new remix of “Spookshow Baby”.

Life Less Lived: The Gothic Box (W/Dvd)

Life Less Lived The Gothic Box
Life Less Lived The Gothic Box

Five hours of mood-lowering music & video from the foremost names in gloom.  In his insightful notes for Rhino’s unprecedented new box, Goth expert Mick Mercer writes, Goth blossomed on the gritty soil of punk; forever indebted, essentially different. It has survived all manner of invective and unhealthy assumptions to become a shining example of music made because it needs to be, not because of anything the performers expect to get out of it. This is art which gets inside your heart. The artists featured on this 3CD & 1 DVD collection, the most comprehensive of its kind, indeed created affecting music about what passionately mattered to them, and what started as intense personal expression evolved into a ‘lifestyle’ for the core audience who most embraced its deep and dark ethos. Reveling in introspection and entranced with sex, death, the life of the mind, and musical poetry, Goth’s power to fascinate has never waned, making it one of the most complex and enduring sub-sets of underground music ever.

The fooling about has finished now it s serious! Santa Hates You pins you to the mat with the power of Crucifix Powerbomb: loud, threatening, danceable, passionate, and brutish. For the title of their new album, Peter Spilles (Project Pitchfork) and Jinxy have chosen nothing less than the name of a wrestling move and hardly any description could be more fitting for the dark, apocalyptic, aggressive, and seductive music that presents itself on this disc. Stomping beats, driving sequencers, apocalyptic sounds, and aggressive vocals all blend into a
veritable inferno of condensed strength. Let s get ready to rumble!
